2nd Excursion: Roman Amphitheater and Murten

Tuesday at 11 am we set off to see a Roman Amphitheater about an hours drive away from KLAS. Again, a nice sunny day to travel and sight-see along the way. They use the theatre for performances, in this case, the opera "La Boheme". Cool to see the mix of the old and the new.

Back on the bus for 20 min to get to Murten, a medieval town.

No modern add-ons are allowed to the rooftops on the buildings, so the views across the city are the same as they would have been during the middle ages.
The covered walls around the old town provide great options for the sight-seers.
The town is on Lake Murten, so many of us dipped our toes in to cool down on a hot day.

Some students spent time shopping in town, as well. Our choice... Nidelkuchen!!!

(MMC students here... they did more swimming!)
