Our tickets are set! 

Our first leg is Winnipeg - Toronto, departing at 6:50PM on Friday, July 6.

The 2nd leg is Toronto - London UK.

The 3rd leg is London - Geneva, arriving at 4:40PM on Saturday, July 7.

The school sends a bus to pick us up, and takes us the 2(ish) hours around Lake Geneva to Leysin and our school, where Chef has supper waiting for us, and the whole school will turn out to welcome us.

Can't wait!

A journey of a million miles...

Hello all.

This blog is intended for the students of the KLAS-SRSS Exchange, their parents, family, friends, and loved ones.
Your correspondent will be Mr. Rick Durksen, Math/Comp. Sci. teacher.

Some info about me/us: I am married to Charlotte Heinrichs, guidance counsellor from the SRSS (presently on maternity leave), and we have a 4 month old son Aidan. We chaperoned this exchange in 2009, and enjoyed it immensely. The students have so many fantastic opportunities and experiences in a place with geography(mountains!!) and culture(Japanese!! Dorm!! Swiss!!) so different from southern Manitoba. We are very excited to be involved with this exchange from year to year, and look forward to chaperoning the students this summer.
